Frances Law - 2019-08-03 8:26 AM I just finished reading a book that I want the world to read called "Into the Magic Shop" by Dr. James Doty a neurosurgeon a biography of his life and quest to discover the brain and heart connection very well written....it is available at Amazon and local library here maybe there also....to read and listen also....what we know to be true when we let the heart lead in life...please read and share what changes for you....Love to all Fran

... well i'll try,  but really don't know how to put in words the impact the reality of that book is having on me ...

... i guess it started with noticing how easily it was made available to read online that day when neither the library or book store had it ... noticed it came with the same feeling i had back in 2016, at the height of the trauma of seeing what was happening in the US election ... when the book "Etty" was literally laid in front of me under a sign, "available to borrow for as long as you want" at a community (sisters of mercy) gathering place ... and then soon into reading her story, had Spirit confirm that as hard as it was to read or relive the experience, trust it to give me a foundation, a confidence for how to be present as love expressed with what was about to happen ... taking Etty's attitude and ways of staying closely connected to Source as a relatable  role model for my own/these times ...

... so while there is little to say, yet so much to feel in response to having read "into the magic shop" i'll start with your asking to share "what changes for you" Fran,  as it actually came to mind yesterday as i accompanied a sister to see a doctor bone specialist at the hospital ...  and listened while he so easily and caringly explained that what may have looked like 'a pin falling out of her hip' to family doctor ... was actually a gathering of something (like a scab does for a skin cut) around the pin to secure it in the hip ball ... and moving her leg showed how the discomfort there was already getting better ... and no absolutely, no need for the drama of a hip replacement ... to expect the improvement to continue and come back in a year or so to tell him he was right ... and then she went on to point out a 'years ago' plate in her wrist that probably  should come out ... to which he pulled up his sleeve to show her his 'plate' that was also not needed ... but why go messing around with 'well enough' ... why not leave her's alone like he was leaving his? ...
... and i think that's where it happened .... where i realized not only was i changed by that book ... but this doctor seemed to be also! ... he was responding to sister in the same way, with the same feeling i get around dr. Doty! ... for heaven sake he even looked a lot like him!
... so what's going on with all that, Fran? ... truly i have no idea ... but in leaving was moved to mention the book "into the magic shop" to the doctor ... with reference to how he reminded me of another doctor ... who wrote what is now my 'favorite' book ... he noted the name ... and we smiled our appreciation for the encounter ...
... will keep a heart open to noticing more of what changes for me and gratefully come back to share with dear friends here ... ((thank you Fran)) ... for this and everything.
